Pastor Rick Henderson

Pastor Rick Henderson has faithfully and lovingly led Chesterton Southern Baptist Church ever since it opened in July of 1991. His life shows that God has called him to this position. He guides, knowing that Christ is the head of the church.

On many occasions Pastor Rick tells the story of how he came to know Jesus Christ. When his and his wife’s first daughter was born, he actively searched out and found the Truth so that he might know life would go well for her.

He has learned to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit and encourages others to do the same.

Pastor Rick Henderson

Pastor Rick is a compassionate, approachable person and genuinely loves Christ, his family, his church and all people.

His wife, their five children, and their families, are active members here. More recently, one of the five moved due of work. And they actively worship Jesus Christ in a church local to them.

God has blessed each of our 20 years under this pastor, most noticeably by others coming to know Christ, by lives changing for the better and by missionary work being supported. May God bless your heart even now as you browse this site.

Pastor Rick married Diana in 1975 and they live in Chesterton. He is a veteran who served in
the U.S. Army from 1968 to 1971. He is a family man, likes to talk about politics and religion, and loves studying the Bible.

Teaching Biblical doctrine and not wavering from it is very important to our pastor. Prayer and Bible study are central to his life. Two of his favorite books are Pilgrim’s Progress and Foxe’s Book of Martyrs.

“And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.”
Hebrews 10:24-25a
